Installation view

Sugar factory

Sugar solution, string, glass jars
Dimensions variable

For one month I cultivated diamonds in these jars. The sugar factory produced ‘counterfeits’ which, in extension, drew attention to the arbitrary assignment of value.

Learn to enjoy losing

Laser cut steel pipe, chain, locks
12 cm diameter each

The pattern is based on braille and reads ‘learn to enjoy losing’. Originally installed with a book in braille and a rhythmic sound piece with notes directly translated from the pattern.

Surveillance camera

Wire, glass beads
26 x 12 x 30 cm
Installation view

Made in context of 'African' art and authenticity.

Bodymap

Wool, cardboard
119 x 80 cm

Hero book (extracts)

Charcoal on paper
42 x 29 cm

A few of the original pages from the short Hero book saga, eventually reverse-printed onto cardboard.

Mixed drawings

Acrylic ink on paper (/ chalk on metal / felt-tipped pen on wood / ginger bread)
30 x 21 cm

Fragments & (w)hole

Photographic prints on hardboard
25 x 40 cm each
As displayed
(3 of the 6 images in the series)

The intention was to see if it was possible to offset the dominant positioning of males in images from a pornographic magazine by physically manipulating the pages using additions, and by selectively re-shooting the compositions to create new areas of emphasis and power.
